Singing the Song of Personality
February 27, 2010I’m a fool for this girl. What more can I do?

I live in Vancouver, Washington with my husband and three children. If there's one thing this crazy family has taught me, it's to relax and enjoy the sticky fingers and giggles. The everyday moments of tickle piles and spilled juice are what is real right now, and these are the things I cherish. We laugh, at times we cry, but first and foremost we try to live truthfully. It is this passion for truth and individuality that I carry to each and every photo session. This is a time to embrace who you are, to not be afraid to be real in front of the lens - to relax, enjoy the process and end up with a final project that you can smile, nod your head at, and say "Yes, this is US!"

I had the distinct honor of being the photographer for Share Vancouver’s annual Mardi Gras Gala this year - what an amazing group of individuals, what an amazing evening! Share Vancouver helps feed and house the homeless of our community, and this auction event raises funds for them to continue serving the needy. Hundreds in Vancouver donated items for both the silent and live auction, and as a result thousands of lives will be touched this year with food, shelter and help getting back on their feet.
A HUGE thank you to all those who contributed to this event, whether by donating, volunteering or bidding - from all I can tell it was a resounding success, and all because of your generosity! Below are some of the portraits taken during the evening. Prints will be in the mail within the next few days!

I ran over to Kelly’s this morning for a corporate headshot session. (These are quickly becoming one of my favorite types of sessions, for I get to meet some wonderful professionals who are always eager to share what they’re doing and where things are headed.) Kelly recently accepted a position with Ballymena, a company introducing an impressive new line of home fragrances. Give her a call - she’s looking to build an amazing team in this area.
Kelly, I’m thrilled for you and know that the sky is your limit. I can’t wait to hear how things develop in the next six months as you develop a team and introduce Ballymena to the PNW!

Last night I got to run out to Just Right Auto Repair here in Vancouver to grab some business portraits of Shari. What a gal! I had no idea all the things she did at the shop, and never would have guessed because she’s just so sweet and beautiful. Some people just break the mold in a delightful way.
Shari, thank you SO much for letting me come out. I can’t wait to show you all the stuff we got!

I love seeing friends together! This dear gal had her best friend visiting from California and asked me to tag along on one of their outings for some fun. It had been a few years since they had been together, so there was much to catch up on. Between their three sweet boys, it became quickly evident that these mommies love their babies and are amazing moms! Seriously, what a striving there is in their homes to raise these boys to be sweet, godly men.
Janell and Chelcie, stick it out and be encouraged. Your boys are young but they’re learning. And you’re doing such a good job. I LOVED my time with you all!!

And look at the love in her face!!!

And here was the littlest guy of the bunch during a coffee shop break. . .

And sometimes you just know when enough is enough, lol. What a fun time!!

Just a sneak peek of a sweet little adventurous boy. . . More to come soon!

I seriously rarely see a family who has so much fun together. It’s one of those families I’ll find excuses to take more photos of, just so I can enjoy their interactions. Mike is a chiropractor in town, and I’d recommend him hands-down. In fact, he’s got an amazing special running this month. Call him and get yourself straightened out! He also works with kids, and after seeing him with his own you’d better believe he loves them! (360) 604-8006
Mike and Sarah, you guys are amazing parents. Seriously. I love the joy you have on your faces just because you all are together. Thanks for sharing your Friday with me!

Got to go out with the cousins over the weekend. My little Fidget-man adores his cuz Izzy, and lets him know every chance he get.
There’s your warm fuzzies to keep you company tonight!

Oh, won’t you just look at this little guy! I found this one recently while I was editing up his session and had to share. SO cute. Doesn’t it look like he’s giggling his heart out?
Now go have a beautiful evening!

chriso: hey, it's 2010 now.
Amy: Hey Chris! My daughter informed me of the exact same thing this evening. Guess I have to make a new watermark this week! :)
chriso: also, sorry that all i had to say consisted of snarkiness. the pics look great.
Amy: Chris, No snarkiness detected here. (Love that word, by the way.) I DO need to change my watermark and I appreciate your saying something!
